No.5 Travel Sickness Cures - Eat Small Portions

Travel sickness symptoms It is essential to have some kind of food in your stomach as this will help to prevent nausea and travel sickness. Eating small portions throughout the day and not skipping meals - is key to keeping your travel sickness to a minimum.

If you do experience sickness, symptoms will most likely be less severe. If there is no food inside the stomach, the acids have nothing to work on apart from the stomach lining, resulting in more severe nausea.

Peanut butter snacks, salty crackers or some other protein snacks are recommended before you go travelling.

For breakfast, citrus fruit such as pears, bananas or cold apple sauce will help you feel satisfied. Although not as tasty, baked potatoes are highly nutritious and the potassium in the potatoes can help to prevent travel sickness. In the evening before going to bed, try eating something that is high in protein as this can help to regulate your blood- glucose levels.
